As recovery in the construction industry gathers pace, built environment recruitment specialist Bromak has reported that the number of candidates it is placing in construction related roles in Merseyside is rising rapidly.
The organisation says Liverpool is helping to lead the way as the region fights back from recession – with a rise of up to 50 per cent year-on-year in the number of placements into work.
Blue collar appointments have experienced such an upturn that Bromak’s Liverpool office has expanded to allow it to push further placements at white collar and management level.
It has taken on an additional recruitment consultant which will allow Graham Hacking, managing consultant at Bromak Liverpool, to focus on driving senior appointments.
Graham said: “We’ve doubled our appointments in roles such as administration and labour and have just placed our 100th candidate in work since opening the Liverpool office just two years ago. Placing candidates in more senior roles is our next challenge.
“The growth in employment is the mark of a rapidly recovering market and it’s important that there is a strong supply of suitably skilled workers. We’re pushing our white collar recruitment offering to ensure the demand is met at all levels.
“As the economy turns a corner recruiters must adapt to the changing employment needs, particularly taking into account concerns about the potential skills gap.”
The recovering construction market is set to see 182,000 jobs created over the next five years, and employment is predicted to be at pre-recession levels by 2018.
Bromak is expanding its Liverpool office further to support staff with this next stage of growth. It is offering an apprenticeship in business administration at NVQ level one, two or three, with a view to this leading to a permanent position.
The company’s expanding network also includes offices in Bolton, Sheffield, Durham, Lichfield and Watford.
